Let’s clear something, the web it’s not another word for internet and viceversa. Which one came first? the internet. According to Wikipedia, “The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link billions of devices worldwide.” and “The World Wide Web (WWW) is an information space where documents and other web resources are identified by URLs, interlinked by hypertext links, and can be accessed via the Internet.”

Before I answer the question, I will let you know my daily use of this sources. Everyday I wake up and the first thing I do is check my phone. If I don’t do it, I feel kinda lost. I read Twitter, like it’s the newspaper. Check Instagram, to see photos of concerts, nature, and stalk celebrities like I work for the FBI (don’t think I’m weird, you’ve done that too). Snapchat and WhatsApp are more personal, I open them to see if I have any messages and answer them. Oh!  and Tumblr. but I don’t use it frequently, I’m still trying to figure that one out.  Other than social media, what do I use the web for? NETFLIX (movies, series) and Youtube (music, videos); and obviously, to search for information wether its for assignments or curiosity. Thanks to the internet we have the web to entertain us, etc. but we also communicate in many ways thanks to it.

How does it help our communication? Besides social media, we can call or text, and my favorite thing, we can FACETIME not only people near us but from around the world. I started university this year, and the hardest part is that I don’t get to be with my friends everyday. Every time I want to tell them something or whatever, I just FaceTime with them. I don’t feel so far away from the people I love, because of the internet.

Could I go back and live without the internet? I can easily live without the web, but without internet, communication wouldn’t be as easy as it is now. Maybe if I didn’t know internet exists obviously I wouldn’t need it as much as I do now. But since I’ve grown with it, I wouldn’t choose to go back and live without it.
