Wear Your Wounds // Revelator Split
“Wear Your Wounds, a solo project of Converge frontman Jacob Bannon, has announced plans to release a split 7” EP with Revelator. Revelator is comprised of Ben Chisholm, a member of Chelsea Wolfe’s band “
“Revelator is the somber vision of musician Ben Chisholm, who is also a full time member of Chelsea Wolfe. Recording under the name “White Horse” since 2010, he has released a number of highly praised experimental solo recordings including “Final Coordinates” and “The Revenant Gospels I, II, and III”.
“Wear Your Wounds is the product of years of solo experimentation by founding Converge member Jacob Bannon. Picking up where his avante-garde projects Irons and Supermachiner left off.”
–
Each party contributes one song to the split. The track “Adrift in You” (Wear your Wounds) sounds like the lovechild, between Swans, and Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine and a bit of Cold Cave. Composed of massive guitars, suite electronics and a huge percussion swirl.
The track “Net of Gems” (Revelator) has to be my personal favorite from the split. Composed my light throbbing percussions, the spiraling sounds of a piano and washed out electronics. Its melancholic and haunting, even a bit psychedelic but more ethereal and dark.
