La inteligencia artificial es un campo científico de gran amplitud; abarca el estudio de sistemas y programas capaces de procesar y comprender grandes cantidades de información, seguir comandos, identificar elementos, tendencias y resolver problemas de manera automatizada. También referida como IA (o AI, por sus siglas en inglés), simula uno o varios aspectos del razonamiento humano y por su capacidad de aprender y adaptarse son considerados inteligentes.

Diversos tipos de inteligencia artificial se encuentran en la tecnología que forma parte del mundo actual, como el reconocimiento facial, “smart speakers”, traductores, hasta automóviles sin chofer. Muchos hoy día temen cuán rápido las máquinas van remplazando la mano obrera.
