A couple of years ago there was a convention that discussed this very topic. In doing so several known writers such as Molly Mahan and Dr. Boslaugh came up with several theories.

Why are several superheroes journalists?

During the time that some of these comics were written, journalism was seen as a way of showing the public how truth and justice played a role in society. Heroes joined this profession to do more than just use their powers and it even gave them a sense of purpose in their spare time.

In addition to this, superheroes also used this line of work to show the public how they would like their heroic personas to be perceived.

Characters in comics have also give us either a positive or a negative point of view on having to work side by side with these superheroes.

Romantic Interests in Comic Book Journalism

This profession was considered to be respectable since it was one of the few jobs that women could have in the time these comics were created. It’s because of this reason that female journalists attracted attention and even made the reader wonder if she would find out the secret identity of our hero. Furthermore a love triangle could have been created due to the closeness of both journalists and her curiosity of the hero. A common example of this would be the relationship between Lois and Clark as well as her interest in Superman.
