Since the media has a constant presence in our daily routine, we feel the need to stay up to date with the latest trends that are occurring. It’s easy to become attached to such a lifestyle.

Through technology we have been able to learn about many topics such as how our brains function. This can be archived through the use of machines to examine brain activity as well as relying on computers to help those in need of counseling and therapy. These techniques have been very helpful since they have been able to inform us about the effects of media in our mental health.

However, excessively relying on the media can be troublesome as well as dangerous due to the following reasons. It can:

  •  be addictive
  • cause us to become insecure and negative
  • influence our choices
  • help us communicate and learn about current events
  • drive us to multitask
