Even if you are beginner cinematographer or a master filmmaker, listening to others advice and experiences can open up a horizon of knowledge, creativity and new ideas. Podcast are a great way to learn and stay up to date with conversations about any topic in a more dynamic platform.

Recently I started looking for some podcast to ease my way into the understandings of cinematography and the film industry. I was shocked in how many podcast there were and each targeting different areas in this particular subject.

From the ones that I found, here are some podcast that I found interesting and that you should be listening to:

Making Movies is Hard with Timothy Plain and Alrik Bursell

Two filmmakers from the Bay Area, San Francisco, Ca. who talk about their experiences and struggles in the film industry. This is my go-to podcast, it’s a light hear and although they say they aren’t experts when it comes to sharing advice, you can actually learn a thing of two from them. Funny, realistic and optimistic, these two will show you the real side of what it takes to be an independent filmmaker.

Indie Film Hustle with Alex Ferrari

Ferrari does a little bit of everything in his podcasts. From the podcast to the website, he has a broad range of topics and segments.  With reviews, courses, interviews and news, there is plenty of information to go around.

The RC: fxguide with Mike Seymour and Jason Wingrove

Not much about the industry itself but more about the technical stuff, The RC focuses on the filmmaking and digital cinema itself. The Red camera and equipment are the base topic in this podcast. For a person who doesn’t know or knows very minimal of film equipment, this listen will guide you to a better understanding of things.

Well this the podcasts that I’m currently listening to. If you like what you read please follow and like this post. Also, leave a comment telling me if you agree or disagree with my picks and what podcast are you listening to.
