I, like almost everyone else, use the internet on a daily basis. I check my emails, talk to those closest to me and scroll through Instagram while waiting for the bus. I already spoke about how the internet has impact pro wrestling but the influence that the web has goes beyond the squared circle. At times I wonder…. how much has the internet impacted our daily lives?

In my case, I wake up and cheak the time on my IPad. I use Spotify, iTunes and YouTube to watch videos and listen to music while I get ready for my day. I use my social Media to talk to those I care about throughout the day and always look at my socials and music playlist on my phone or ipad for entertainment. After a long day of learning, I relax by watching some television show on Netflix, a website for the specific channel I want to see (Like ABC or Freeform), the WWE Network (Not sponsored) or good ol’ YouTube (to watch makeup tutorials or wrestling videos.) Also, I take courses that are parcially online, Moodle and Google Classroom, so I use the web to do homework and research. Afterwords I went up online window shopping (Sephora, Ulta, Jeffree Star Cosmetics) for lipstick and wrestling t-shirts (WWE shop, shop TNA, Pro Wrestling Tees, Ringside Collectables) and end my day by watching Snapchat stories until I fall asleep. So yeah, my life in consumed by the web. Don’t judge.

Sometimes we neglect to see the impact this phenomena has had in the way we live our lives. Now we don’t even feel the need to watch the news because the important topics are always trending on Twitter. Even events like Pro Wrestling and MMA pay per views we can find out the outcome utilizing our socials because lets be honest, $50 per non WWE PPV, cause it’s $9.99 on their network (again not sponsored,) can add up and get expensive, especially when you are only looking forward to one are two matches or fights. Everything from how we entertain ourselves, purchase items, like action figures and books, and even do our homework has changed due to the web. But could we survive without it?

Surviving without the internet at this day and age is virtually impossible since everything is so web centric. Now, could I go back and live in the past without the internet? I think I could. It would challenge me to have to think for myself more and hangout with my loved ones face to face more often, something that wouldn’t bother me at all. The idea of doing homework utilizing a textbook encyclopedia and looking trough a ton of books in a library for a long time instead of having the answer at my fingertips sounds taxing but I believe that it would be a good lesson in patience. I’d be more engaged in live around me but it would suck not having a stellar indy matches at the press of a button. But over all I think I could survive, as long as I have a subscription to a PWI magazine, even though I know for a fact that my personality and who I am wouldn’t be the same. But who knows? Maybe that would be a good thing, maybe not.

Long story short, the web is here and has become vital in our daily lives so we can’t get rid of it now. So relax, it isn’t going anywhere.
That’s all for now peeps. Now go watch an AJ Styles match to celebrate his WWE World title win at Backlash. Stay Weird. ?
