Most people these days have become heavy users of both the Internet and the Web; and I guarantee that you wouldn’t be reading this blog if you weren’t. In other words, in almost everything we do, we use the Internet. The Internet has certainly impacted our lifestyles, to the extent, that we can’t live without it.

In my everyday life, the Internet plays a significant role. From the moment I wake up, and until I go to bed, I am connected. When I wake up, the very first thing I do is check my social media accounts for any kind of relevant news. After all, I am a Communications Major and I should be informed of what is going on around me.  I also use applications like Skype, to keep in touch with my family, while I am staying away from home and on the Residence Halls. As a student, throughout the day, I also use the Internet, to get any academic information I need. In my leisure time, whether is watching videos on YouTube or buying books on Amazon; the Internet use is never missing either.

Sending pictures, sharing videos, listening to music, and even ordering some takeout, the Internet has certainly become a permanent feature on my day-to-day life.

Based on all of this, is hard to imagine a life without the Internet. However, there have been people who have grow up without any reliance upon it. If I had to go back in time and live without Internet, I think I could survive. We need to reconnect  with our past and how we used to be without the frequent use of Internet in our lives. It all goes back to the fact, that if in the present, people who have not been raised around technology learn to adapt to the need of it; it is also possible for us, to leave our addiction to it.

If we could go back in time, to a space where the use of Internet was not available, we will certainly have to start talking more to each other, the chats at the post office in the morning will be back, kids will use libraries for school assignments, and people will receive letters instead of emails; and if you asked me, that sounds quite nice. We should not live as if…
