The ”About” page in the website says it all, but let’s add some more details. My name is Gretchen, but you may call me Marie. It’s my nickname. I’m a 19-year-old university student majoring in digital film/TV production with a minor in marketing. Consider me as an art lover, sports and entertainment enthusiast and an adventurer who was born and raised in the west side of Puerto Rico. To be honest, I’m actually half-Spanish and half-Puertorican because my surname is from Mallorca, Spain; and my maiden name is from the Canary Islands. Once you hear about my family’s story, which is rather long, you’ll understand. In terms of personality, I’m good-humored, fun and energetic; but like everyone else, I have a lot of flaws. There are times where being around people, distracting myself and not being somewhere silent is the best feeling. However, there are times where I prefer the comfort of my silent home; or doing simple things like going to the movies with a few friends. I’m not the kind of person who limits herself too much to just one thing. Although I have a fair amount of preferences and things that I like, I have to let everything flow sometimes.

A year ago, I moved to the capital of the island to study what I love. At the beginning of my freshman year, I started to explore my interests. As I mentioned before, I like every form of art. Literature is a way for me to forget about my problems, which leads me to my love of writing. People say I’m an excellent writer, so why not take advantage of that and create something? That’s how From Campus to Corporate: A Small Slice of Life was made. I thought about the future; and hopefully, it helps me learn, develop my creativity and contribute in any way.

What is From Campus to Corporate? Well, for everyone who is in their late teens and the twenty-somethings, this is what I like to call our space or rendezvous. Yes, the older adults can join us; I’m sure you can relate to us one way or another. The name is important because it represents many aspects of life. ”Campus” in this case refers to not just university life, but everything that goes on in those wonder years outside the classrooms, lectures, buildings and dorms. According to the dictionary, ”corporate” is the synonym of a company or corporation. Don’t take it too literal; it’s not about working. ”Corporate” in this case is used as a symbol of young adulthood and everything that life brings to the table during that time. The site is a source of lifestyle, personal growth, confessions, stories, advice and university life articles. It’s a little bit of everything you like and hate. That’s why I consider this as a small slice of life.
