The name of the article is: Legally Speaking: A Copyright Challenge to Resales of Digital Music.

Its about how Capitol Records sued an firm that provides online downloads. Here’s the abstract of the article:

The article discusses a lawsuit filed by music company Capitol Records against ReDigi Inc., a firm that provides an online platform for the resale of digital music. Capitol alleges that copies of its sound recordings ReDigi makes in the process of providing its service violate Capitol’s copyrights. Capitol further maintains ReDigi has liability for the alleged unlawful distribution of music on its platform by its customers. ReDigi argues that the so-called “exhaustion of rights” principle that allows consumers to resell products as varied as compact discs and books should also apply to digital music.

In my opinion: I think its very important to always ask about the copyrights and the companies policy before they go and put some of the recordings on the webpage. Copyright and Privacy policy is very important and even more important for big companies like Capitol Records, that they have thousands of huge artists.
