As photographers, we always have keep bringing new ideas to our art to keep the audience interested in our work. Experiment with new things to ty to keep out work as original as possible. It’s hard to maintain a fresh mind always and its hard to have to constantly think of new ideas to give to our new work. There will always come that time where we must have “idea-block” for our photography. So, today I will tell you my remedy to get out of those “idea-block” moments we all have sometime.

1. Take a break: We all need this. There are times that I’m working in Photoshop and what I want to achieve isnt working out. I get frustrated trying for it to work and rushing the work to get the result that I want, but of course that doesn’t work out. So, I take a break. I get away from my computer and focus on something else and I try to stay way for atleast 20 minutes; so when I go back to work, I see the image with fresh eyes and calmly start to work again.

2.Look for inspiration: If what you’re doing isn’t working out te way you want it to, or if you’re starting something and you don’t know how to execute it properly; look for work that is similar to what you want to do and lookup different artist that do that type of art. It can open your mind to know what you want to make or it can show you new ways of how to eperiment with your art. The app that I use the most for new ideas is Pinterest , I also use Instagram. These help me a lot with new ideas and new subjects to experiment with.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask advice: Asking for advice in my opinion something so personal. I’m always afraid to ask people what that think about my work, let alone ask for advice for what can I do to it. I mostly don’t show people my work unless it’s online because I don’t have to talk about it. Nethertheless, asking for advice will better your work so much. You will learn to take constructive critisism and apply it to your art and little by little you will get better at it. But, remember, you chose if you want apply it to yur work or not. It’s your work, not theirs.
