As a photographer, I struggle a lot on how to sell my work and how much do I sell it for. How do I make a big audience take interest in my work? How do I make good content that people are willing the buy for a certain price? Those are always my main questions when it comes to selling a photograph of mine. One of the things that helps you the most on a wide audience getting to know what you do is of course, the internet. Make a website, an instagram accound or any online space for that matter, and share it with everyone. Tell your friends, your family to pass it on to their friends so your work is known. I have 2 photography instagram accounts for my work; one is for my analogue photograpy and the other on is for my digital work. I don’t like to mix them up, but it’s the artist choice. As “cocky’ as it can be, always post in youre story (if it’s on instagram) that you just posted. That way more people get to see what you do and don’t be afraid to use the heck out of those hashtags- yes, they’re annoying, but they work like a charm when you first start out and not a lot of people know your work.

What can I make that people are willing to buy? Well, that depends. As we all know, art is subjective. Some people may love it and others may not. It’s totally up to you and how you make your photographs or art. What do I sell them for? Well, for instance I make my price on how much time I spent on making the piece and how much money I spent for the materials. Most of the photograph’s that I sell are analogue so I retail them a little more expensive given that all the prints are originals with actuall analogue paper that costs about a hundred dollars. I also make the frames for them so that makes the price higher.

Here are the frames I’m selling!

So, when it comes down to it, in reality your the one that decides how much your art is worth and how proud you are of it in order to sell it with confidence knowing you gave it your best and you are satisfied with the fnished product.
