Who is Dick Grayson?

Everyone knows about Batman, Bruce Wayne, Justice League’s original founders, big strong guy dressed as a bat who fights criminals using the darkness and fear as his element, pretty popular. But what about his little buddy in tights? Well that’s Robin! To contrary belief, there has actually been more than one kid in green tights, to be exact around 6 different people have fought against criminals alongside Batman.

Why am I telling you all this? Well this blog will be starting a new series about all those brave kids, telling you about them a bit more and hopefully inspiring you to read about them. This series will begin with no more than THE original Boy Wonder, our beloved Richard John ‘Dick’ Grayson!

Now who really is Dick Grayson? He was born into a circus, his family being the most popular act of the entire show, named “The Flying Graysons”. The circus would travel the world, perform, all the members being a big happy family, but of course underneath all of that was pretty dark. The circus boss, and a mafia boss, were having some finance money and since it couldn’t be worked out, the mafia decided to kill the circus best act, leading to the death of Mary and John Grayson. Ironically enough, Batman was in the crowd that exact night, and resonated with the scene in-front of him, which leads to him taking a personal interest in helping Grayson and then becoming his ward.

Much training and struggles later; Grayson becomes Robin, the lovable pun filled sidekick of Batman’s. Robins pure purpose was to attract a younger audience, but he became a house hold name, even receiving so much support that he turned into his own superhero called, Nightwing.

Nightwing, a named provided by the one and only Superman, recounting to Richard a little story from Krypton.

Now that’s just a little summarization about the first Boy Wonder, my personal favorite, Richard Grayson. I will be continuing this series later on, hope you follow along.
