It’s Sunday morning, you look at your clock and it’s 11:20. You don’t want to cook and you’re in the mood for a big breakfast/lunch and most of all, you’re in the mimosa mood. Don’t fret, my beautiful souls, I know just the place.

Bistro Café, Isla Verde

It’s a small local shop in Isla Verde, Carolina near the beach. The shop is french-themed along with rustic decor. A lot of local food lovers recommended me this place and it was not a let down. This shop has a variety of sandwiches, omelettes, french toasts, and so many more. What shocked me was the hot chocolate with Nutella drizzled all around the mug, yeah you heard me, nu-te-lla.

What you may see here is a hot chocolate but what I see is heaven and can we talk about how cute it looks?! There’s also good and glorious foods that contain nutella. But, I get it, there people out there who don’t like nutella for some reason (I’m not judging, I’m just shocked) then I suggest you to order a big ol’ cappuccino for all of you coffee lovers out there. Also, if you’re in a more festive and uplifting mood you can choose a variety of mimosas (they are a tad expensive but they’re so worth it!)

Now we pass to the real stuff, the food. What I loved about this local shop is that aside from the menu that they offer, their walls are covered with chalk boards along with special menus. Since it was my first time in this shop, I decided to be spontaneous and go out of my comfort zone. I ordered an Espartano which contains:

  • Omelette

  • Smoked Salmon
  • Tomatoes
  • Spinach
  • White Onions
  • Provolone
  • Cream Cheese

With a side (don’t worry it is also included) of french toasts with nutella and fruits. THIS. IS. INSANE.

My mouth turned into a river when I first saw this. This looks like a masterpiece! It was heavenly delicious however I couldn’t finish it because it was ridiculously big the whole plate. None of my family members did finish it but our hearts and stomach were very happy.

There was another thing I tasted from the menu that wasn’t too big. It was a smoked salmon in a croissant. It had: smoked salmon (of course), capers, cream cheese and spinach. It tasted somewhat healthy because of this fish (of course!) but it ad a very interesting flavor to it that I liked. Follow their instagram for more heart-throbbing foods!

On a scale of 5, I would rate this a 4. The food is incredibly yummy and delicious however the waiting list is really long and the place is crowded. Another thing that I didn’t quite like about the shop is the theme. It was too rustic that it even seemed neglected. Of course, it’s a free country and someone who has gone to this place might not agree with me. The theme is very cool and unique but the roof looks too scraped off like they put an amount of effort for it to look effortless. But, you’re not there for the theme you’re there for their sweet french toast and their bomb omelettes. I would definitely go again and I will recommend Bistro Café to everyone.
