Ok, I know this is bold to say, but I feel like Nintendo has just lost it’s spark (Iwata-san, come back).

It’s like the dark tunnel to the unknown that Apple is going through post-Jobs. Today we got a Nintendo Direct directly directed to 3DS (just be patient with me). Expecting some great new titles, I was bombarded with updates, and portable remakes (and a few new titles).

I’m not saying it was bad, I’m just saying it’s getting out of control.

I’m just taking this space to share a bit of ranting.

We got to see more from Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. It’s been years since I’ve been actually excited for a new Pokémon title, and Sun and Moon got me sky-high for them (I asked for patience already). But I keep getting these Alola region modified first gen-ers, and I’m super in the middle about it.

Here we have Alola Rattatta, with a snazzy new mustache. Ooh, such villainous new look.

It’s somewhat cool, having my originals companions coming back to my grown up self in a new image, but maybe it’s because they don’t have any more items to make into Pokémon? I mean, I have to admit it’s a step up from Klefki…
But, I’m expecting not to have a full Pokédex of the original 150, in pretty other types.

We even get a Munchlax, just to be able to evolve it into Snorlax, and a new z-move named “Pulverizing Pancake”.

I’m not feeling the whole Z-moves and Z-crystals. But I’ll just have to try it before I knock it. Oh, but I’m exceptionally not excited for this Yo-kai wanna be item.

Come on, Nintendo! This just cries desperate!

And speaking of desperate, we got introduced to some new Mii Plaza mini games.

The ones shown above plus 3 more. You can only get one for free — yes, one. Then you can get a discounted price on the other 4. Now, pardon my reaction, but Mii Plaza is a free detail on Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS. The games that are added from the beginning are just cool details the 3DS brought, to pass the time, to motivate people to have their 3DS powered on constantly and never have batteries. Ok, sorry, I went off track. Anyways, I’m just saying it was a cool detail, not something serious that I’ll want for $2.99 a piece.

But this probably doesn’t bother me at all, it just that lately I just feel like Nintendo needs my money. Like with the Nintendo Badge Arcade. I find the price to be a bit steep for what they are. (But what do I know, I don’t make the games, maybe I’m just too accustomed to the “watch this ad for more coins that normally cost real money” lifestyle.)

Ok, so this is what I’m talking about. Now, I know I’m coming off as a hater, and I swear I’m not void of wonder, I’m just sharing a few opinions. Here we have a few new 3DS titles that aren’t so new, since these came first as Wii U games. These were, are, really good games. I’m excited to get them and play them on the go, and specially get the new Poochy amiibo.

I feel like they are running out of ideas and latching onto what worked.

Specially this. I recently had my friend Boris rant about this New 3DS XL. At first I wanted to think it was awesome (which in it’s own way it is, it’s good enough hipster pretty), but he made a valid point; there are so many other Nintendo games based designs that could have replaced this “buy this sticker cover at $1.99 on ebay” looking one.

I know Nintendo is a business, but these Animal Crossing amiibo cards need to stop. I collected the first series, but quickly learned that if I wanted all of them, I would need to take out a loan.

And once again, we get an old title, this time with a brand new update. I found it super cool to be bringing ACNL back, but I’m having it back for the wrong reasons: Nintendo milking these amiibo. The amiibo craze is over, but Nintendo is still trying to hold on to that precious increase in sales, which is boring by now.

And judge me as much as you like, but, the title I was most excited to see was Disney Magical World 2. I enjoyed the first one a lot and has been anxiously waiting for this one.

It’s an awesome simulation game, where you can customize your character, room and restaurant, you get lots of varied quests and mini games. It has rhythm and adventure quests, and just a whole lot of everything, with known favorite characters.

I feel I need to remind anyone, if anyone at all, reading that this is a very subjective opinion blog, meant to be entertaining and just get us talking.

Either way, I want to mention that the Nintendo Direct had some other cool titles presented, such a Ever Oasis, Mario Sports Superstar, Dragon Quest VII, 2 new Yo-kai Watch, Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, and other that you can check out below.

Remember to please share your opinions or tips to get better at this!
