“It’s one of the smallest in size but most biologically diverse of the national forests hosting hundreds of animal and plant species.”

The magical 29,000 acres are located in Puerto Rico.

I’ve lived all my life in this island, but in eleventh grade when I was sixteen years old, I had the chance to go for the first time to El Yunque. It is one of the most beautiful, breathtaking places I’ve ever been in. I had to walk a lot but I didn’t even notice, since I was taking pictures of every little detail of the place.

I also visited La Mina. But ¿what is La Mina?, you might ask. “La Mina Trail in El Yunque is one of the most popular hikes in the rain forest along with Big Tree Trail. The reason; they both take you to the beautiful 35 foot waterfall at La Mina Falls where the water flows over huge rocks into a pool with very cold water.”  discoveringpuertorico.com

Walking through El Yunque it’s a great experience, and a wonderful place to take your camera and explore what nature has to offer.
