IMG_6113 2.JPGFossil fuel and contamination. Cause and effect. Soon to put an end to the vital and essential elements of the earth. Our ecosystem is being contaminated and we don’t even bother to realize that we are destroying the planet. This exhibition called Petrofósil is created by the brothers Jaime and Javier Suárez.

What I really enjoyed about this exhibition is the composition of the artwork: it is dark, it looks filthy just like the pollution. Their main material for this exhibition is: petroleum. Aside from petroleum, the brothers used industrial materials as a criticism that we are industrializing and harming the ecosystem.

These brothers were born in Ohio and both siblings are 34 years old. These brothers are also known by the name of Vientre Compartido. They both studied in Universidad de Puerto Rico Recinto de Mayagüez (UPRM) and moved to Spain to study Artistic Production. While they were living in Spain, they begin to investigate issues about minimal interventions in natural environments, developing concepts and strategies for balanced implementation in the environment. Currently, this exhibition is located at Universidad Sagrado Corazón.

The entrance is free of cost.
