Oh boy! Valentine’s Day is coming up and majority of us are sitting around looking on social media posts about couples being “perfect” and the gifts one gives to another while we sit there wishing that could be us. I mean, I know I shouldn’t really be complaining because I have a boyfriend, but it’s not the same for my partner and I since we’re in a long distance relationship. Therefore, we feel lonely. Notice I say “we” instead of “I” because I’m not selfish just thinking about how I feel. But that’s not the point. The point is no matter what, each one of us humans shall have fun and continue with our daily routines as if it wasn’t Valentine’s Day. But of course helping ourselves with little treats doesn’t hurt. If you want to buy yourself chocolates and flowers, go right ahead! Heck, I’d do the same no matter what.

Now, every couple’s struggle when it comes to Valentine’s Day is figuring out what to get their partner. At least, that’s my struggle right now, wondering what shall I ever get my man. Let me let you guys in on a little secret. Us girls love the details in gifts we give and vice versa so we take our time searching for the “perfect” gifts. By the posts we see online, we expect our partners to get us expensive gifts, yet perfect gifts when in reality, it can’t always be like that due to financial problems. Which therefore, is my current situation. I’m an 18 year old girl struggling to find a job here in Puerto Rico. These are one of the reasons why I also want a job, to buy my man decent gifts. Since in long distance relationships one can’t show their love physically like usual, one might as well get their partner a little something. I don’t know if you guys get me, but if you do, perfect!
